The Renault has finally unveiled official images and details of Renault Talisman Concept, its Laguna Saloon successor on 6th July, 2015 at a press conference. This car will be available in the market from the end of this year in France; and from summer 2016 it will be rolled out in the rest of the Europe, North Africa and Turkey. Unfortunately, there is no any plan on cards to launch it in the UK in the near future.
Aimed at the top level segment, which is mostly dominated by Mercedes, BMW and Volkswagen for a long time, Renault finally comes with an answer with its newly designed Renault Talisman. Its predecessor Laguna Saloon sale declined continuously for past few years due to reliability problems and stiff competition from BMW and Mercedes. Only 16000 units of Laguna III were sold last year in Europe, and launching of freshly designed Talisman at this time will definitely boost Renault’s hope in this segment.
As per the company statement, the Talisman is 4.85 meters long and 1.87 meters wide with new Renault family face seen on Kadjar SUV. The firm also claims that this saloon will offer best in class cabin space than its competitors in the same segment with 608 litre boot space.
The Talisman will come with three petrol and two diesel engine options. The 1.6 TCe petrol turbo tuned to 160 HP and 200 HP and 1.2 TCe (130hp) with dual clutch 7 speed automatic gearbox, while there’s 1.6 dci diesel tuned to 130hp and 160hp with six speed manual.
According to the finish and the options selected; Talisman will have the following equipments:-
– Lane Departure Warning
– Heated and massaging seats
– Bose Sound System
– Recognition of signs
– 100% full – LED headlights
– Blind Spot Monitoring
– Passing beam with automatic crossing lights
– Hands free parking
The price of the base model will start from 27,000 Euros. It looks like Renault has worked hard on design, equipment and comfort of Talisman Saloon to attract niche customers in the luxury car segment.
