The sight of any Super Cars on the Indian roads is sure to give you goosebumps if you ever happen to be a petrolhead. And why not! It’s not something that you get to see every day unless you are on the sets of some Bollywood stunt scene or on the tracks of Buddh International Circuit situated in Delhi NCR.
The thrill of driving a super car on a deserted straight express road or Nice road in Bangalore is something only a few can dream about. But I guess most of the gearheads like me have grown up looking at the scintillating posters of a Ferrari or a Lamborghini on our bedroom walls, as we knew these were the outperformers on the roads.
So! who doesn’t want to experience that adrenaline rush of galloping from 0 – 100 kmph in 5 seconds or less?

25. BMW i8 – Top Speed 120 km/h
The BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car is the part of BMW’s electrified fleet of vehicles and was first unveiled as a concept at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Four years later, the production version of this sports car was launched at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and started rolling out for sales from year 2014. The i8 is designed to be very aerodynamic in shape and is built out of lightweight Carbon Fibre materials.
Being a hybrid sports car, the i8 gets two engines for its power. First being a 1.5-litre TwinPower Turbo 3 Cylinder petrol engine and the second a powerful electric motor that gets its energy from a lithium-ion battery. The IC engine is able to produce 231 bhp of power and a maximum torque of 320 Nm.
Using the BMW eDrive technology that combines the benefits of both the electric motor and the combustion engine, the i8 is able to accelerate from 0 – 100 kmph mark in 4.6 seconds, while the top speed achieved is 120 kmph.
BMW i8 is available in two variants, the first being the all-wheel drive Coupe and the second is the all-wheel drive roadster. While the i8 Coupe is priced at Rs 2.14 crore, the i8 Roadster is priced at Rs 2.25 crore.

24. Porsche 718 Boxster – Top Speed 275 km/h
Porsche 718 models are two-seater mid-engine super cars available to choose from the Porsche hanger. Although the 718 variants from Porsche are not as fast as its 911 series, these are built to be lightweight and costs much less than the Porsche 911’s.
Different variants available in the 718 lineup includes the 718 Cayman, 718 Boxster, 718 Spyder, 718 GTS and the 718 Cayman GT4. Of these, the 718 Boxster was launched in India at the start of year 2017 and has been doing good sales so far in our country.
Although, the 718 Boxster S is priced very close the 911, the Boxster without the Sport version ‘S’ has been kept at relatively less price of Rs 85.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Needless to say, this is a car designed more for the modest supercar enthusiast of Porsche.
The 718 Boxter is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder flat mid-mounted engine that produces a power output of 295 bhp at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 380 Nm at 1950-4500 rpm. Coupled with a 6-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe) automatic transmission that powers the rear wheels, the vehicle is able to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 275 kmph.
This super car is known to be owned by Indian cricket team ex-captain MS Dhoni, all-rounder Suresh Raina and some other business tycoons like Deepak Daryani from Indore, etc.
23. Maserati Ghibli – Top Speed 286 km/h
The Maserati Ghibli was first showcased as a 2-seater concept car at the 1966 Turin Motor Show in Italy. The first production model of the Ghibli was a Grand Tourer which ran on the public roads in the sixties and seventies, while during the nineties the coupe replaced the GT to be the Ghibli. The sedan version of the Ghibli was launched in the year 2014 and has been one amongst the most admired and desired luxury sports car in the world.
India got its Maserati Ghibli sedan in the year 2015. However, last year in 2019, Maserati announced the upgraded model of this car with new petrol powertrains. Overall, we get 3 variants of this car in India. These are Ghibli Standard and Ghibli S with petrol engines, and the Ghibli Diesel with 3.0-litre diesel engine.
The Ghibli petrol versions gets a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with direct injection GDI. While the Ghibli Standard creates a power output of 350 bhp at 5,750 rpm, the Ghibli S produces a power of 430 bhp at 5,750 rpm. The maximum torque produced by the Standard variant is 500 Nm at 1,750 rpm and that produced by the S variant is 580 Nm at 2,250 rpm. The diesel produces 275 bhp pf power at 4,000 rpm and max torque of 600 Nm at 2,000 rpm.
Attached to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the engine of the Ghibli S pushes the car from 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 286 kmph.
This supercar costs in the range of Rs 1.38 crore to Rs 1.44 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). Some of this supercar owners includes the like of Mr Shreyansh Jain, a Delhi based businessman who was the first Indian to buy this car in 2018, Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, etc.
22. Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 – Top Speed 290 km/h
The Mustang Shelby GT500 is the fastest and most powerful Mustang ever produced by the company. First launched at the 2011 LA auto show, this car was the most powerful Mustang of all times. Earlier, these super cars were in production only from 2012 to 2014.
However, at the 2020 Detroit Auto Show, Ford motors made the return of this beast in the form of a more powerful version of the GT500. This coupe now joins Ford’s performance lineup of super cars with the Shelby GT350 and GT350R already in the list.
The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 is powered by a 5.2-litre supercharged cross plane crank V8 engine that produces a whooping 760 hp of power output at 7300 rpm. This is actually more than twice the power produced by the first-ever Mustang of 1967 with a V8 engine. The maximum torque produced is 847 Nm.
Mated to a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission, the supercar can cross the 0-100 kmph mark in 3.3 seconds, while hitting a top speed of 290 kmph.
The Shelby GT500 will be priced around Rs 2 crores in India and will have a limited production of only 5000 units worldwide. We can expect to see this supercar in our country by 2020 end or early 2021.

21. Maserati GranTurismo – Top Speed 299 km/h
The Maserati GranTurismo (GT) is a part of the series of Grand Tourers that the Italian luxury car manufacturer Maserati started producing from 2007. Now, for those who are not much aware of the term “Grand Tourers”, it is a type of sports car that is designed for high speed as well as long distance driving.
In India, we got the 2018 GranTurismo model and was price tagged at Rs. 2.25 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). First launched at the 2017 Goodwood festival of Speed in England, this super car design is by Pininfarina, Italy.
The GranTurismo is available is two variants – Sports and MC, where the MC is the racing version of the GranTurismo S.
The car is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 naturally-aspirated engine, that is hand-crafted by Ferrari in Maranello. It produces 460 bhp of power at 7000 rpm and a peak torque of 520 Nm at 4750 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed ZF automatic gearbox that can help push the vehicle from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.7 seconds while achieving a top speed of 299 kmph.
Indians owning this supercar includes film director and producer – Rohit Shetty who is owns the sports version of the GT, and some business owners in Mumbai and Bangalore.
20. Jaguar F-Type – Top Speed 300 km/h
The Jaguar F-Type is a beautiful looking sports car with some impressive performance numbers. Though you cannot compare it with the standards of other super cars like Porsche 911 or an Audi R8, this car is good enough to make people stop-by and take a few clicks for a selfie.
You would be surprised to know that this car has more variants than any other super cars mentioned here. That’s why the price range of this car in India is also too wide, starting from Rs 90 lakh to a whooping Rs 2.8 crore. Some of the variants available includes Jaguar F-Type 2.0 Coupe, 2.0 Convertible, 2.01 Coupe R-dynamic, 5.0 V8 R coupe, 5.0 V8 Convertible R-dynamic, R coupe, R Convertible, SVR Coupe and SVR Convertible to name a few.
Isn’t the range too much for a single model? Pheww!!
Well, let me give you the specification for the top model, the F-type SVR convertible. This model is powered by a brutal 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine that produces 543 bhp power output at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 625 Nm at 2500 rpm.
Connected to 8-speed Torque converter auto transmission, this sports car achieves the 0-100 kmph mark in 3.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 300 kmph.
The Jaguar F-Type SVR Convertible 2020 is priced at Rs 2.8 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).and is known to be possessed by many in our country. Many of these cars have been seen on the streets of Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, etc. I couldn’t come up with any particular celebrity names here, sorry for that.
19. Mercedes Benz AMG GT – Top Speed 302 km/h
The Mercedes Benz AMG GT model is an F1 inspired flagship supercar, introduced first in the year 2014 at Paris Motor Show. This model was built entirely in-house by the Mercedes-AMG team and was even assisted by the Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton in the development.
India started getting the AMG GT models in the year 2015 and since then have been owned by many rich super cars enthusiasts.
This two-seater sports car in available in India in three versions, namely the GT Roadster, GTS Coupe and the GT Coupe. All these three petrol variants are powered by the same 4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine developed completely by AMG..
The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch auto transmission that generates a staggering 510 bhp of output and 650 Nm of torque. The vehicle can sprint from 0 – 100 kmph in under 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 302 kmph.
The 2019 Mercedes Benz AMG GT is priced between Rs. 2.27 – 2.48 Crore (ex-showroom Delhi) and some of this supercar owners includes celebrities like Bollywood’s Imran Khan, and others.
18. BMW M4 GTS – Top Speed 305 km/h
The BMW M4 GTS is the fastest production BMW model out of the whole range of its extreme M series. Originally introduced as a concept at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, this sports car came into production from the year 2016. With the state-of-the-art technology from BMW implemented in a vehicle that gives excellent performance both on the race tracks as well as roads, this supercar is able to stand up against any opposition.
With the production being limited to only 700 units, the BMW M4 GTS gets an award winning 3.0-litre 6-cylinder inline turbo engine. This is the same engine that was used in the BMW M3 and BMW M4; however, the GTS gets more refinement in the tuning, thus being able to generate 500 bhp of power and 600 Nm of torque in the GTS.
With a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with launch control standard for the M4s, the M4 GTS is able to accelerate from 0 – 100 kmph in 3.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 305 kmph.
The BMW M4 is priced in the range of Rs 1.36 crore in India.
17. Lamborghini Urus – Top Speed 305 km/h
The Lamborghini cars doesn’t need any introductions. These are some of the rarest supercars and carries the most expensive price tags in the world. The Lambos have those unconstrained soul and traffic-stopping looks that can make the world go pause around them.
The Lamborghini Urus is the first Super Sports Utility Vehicle from the Italian supercar manufacturer and also the fastest production SUV in the world. First unveiled as a concept in the year 2012 at Beijing Auto Show, the production version was unveiled much later in year 2017.
India saw its launch of Urus in January 2018 and the first unit got delivered in September 2018, to a customer in Mumbai.
Powering the Lamborghini Urus is a specially designed 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 petrol engine that produces 650 bhp of power output at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 850 Nm at 2,250 – 4,500 rpm.
With an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all the four wheels of Urus in a 40:60 front-rear split, this car is able to do a 0 – 100 kmph mark in 3.6 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 305 kmph.
Although the Urus is priced at a hefty price tag of Rs 3.10 crore, this supercar has achieved a pretty good growth in terms of sales figure in India. The Urus achieved the sale of 50th car, within a year of launch, becoming the first luxury supercar maker to set the record for fastest 50 delivery mark in India.

16. Maserati Quattroporte – Top Speed 310 km/h
The first model of the Maserati Quattroporte dates back to 1960s and since then it has been growing in popularity across the world. India got its first Quattroporte in the year 2015, when the company opened its first dealership in New Delhi. There have been regular updated versions of the car since then and we could see the new models up and running on Indian streets.
The latest model of the Quattroporte launched in India is the 2019 model and it comes in two variants – the GranLusso and the Gransport. The GranLusso base variant is priced at Rs 1.74 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the Gransport is priced at Rs 1.79 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Maserati Quattroporte gets both the petrol and diesel options. The petrol version is powered by a 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that generates 522 bhp at 6500-6800 rpm and 710 Nm of torque at 2250-3500 rpm. On the other hand, the diesel version is powered by a 3.0-litre V-Type Diesel engine that generates 271 bhp at 4000 rpm and 660 Nm of torque at 2000-2600 rpm.
An 8-speed ZF automatic unit mated to the petrol engine can propel the car from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 310 kmph.

15. Nissan GT-R – Top Speed 315 km/h
The Nissan GT-R is a high performance sports car produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturer, Nissan. This car is quite popular among the auto enthusiasts as it is there in several video games as well as Fast & Furious Hollywood movie series.
History of this model dates back to 1960’s when the car was called Skyline GT-R and was made by another Japanese car manufacturer named Prince Motors. However, this company was later bought by Nissan in 1966.
Nicknamed as “Godzilla”, these super cars were officially launched in India in December 2016 and was priced at Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). However, the current price of the car starts at Rs 2.12 crore. It seems the increase in price of Rs 13 lakh was over BS4 to BS6 transition, that the company offers for its Indian customers.
The GT-R is powered by a 3.8-litre V6 Twin-Turbocharged petrol engine that produces a prodigious 570 hp of power at 6800 rpm and a peak torque of 637 Nm at 3300-5800 rpm. A 6-speed DCT gearbox mated to this engine helps the car to breach the 0-100 kmph mark in just 2.8 seconds making it one of the fastest accelerating 4-seater cars. It can also achieve a top speed of 315 kmph.
Many Indians are known to own this supercar even before its launch in India through Imports. Some of the celebrities who own this masterpiece include the likes of John Abraham, late Sushant Singh Rajput and Sachin Tendulkar.
14. Lamborghini Gallardo – Top Speed 320 km/h
The Gallardo has been one of the best-known supercars from the Italian manufacturer Lamborghini. This model was in production from 2003 to 2013 and has sold more than 14,000 units worldwide. Named after one of the famous five Spanish fighting bull breed castes, this supercar was brought in as a replacement to the Murcielago.
India saw the launch of two Gallardo models, the Gallardo LP560-4 and LP570-4 in the year 2013, both of which are powered by a 5.2-litre V-10 engines. However, a limited-edition Gallardo for India was also launched later in the same year, named as “Lamborghini Gallardo India Serie Speciale”. Only 6 of these super cars were made and all of these cars boasted the Indian tricolour stripes that ran the entire length of the car. The model was priced at Rs 3.06 crore.
Though there are more than 10 variants of the Lamborghini Gallardo manufactured, we will talk here about the most powerful version of this raging bull. The LP 570-4, fully known as Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is the fastest and the most powerful Gallardo ever made.
The LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is powered by a 5.2-litre V10 engine that produces 570 bhp of power output at 8,000 rpm and a max torque of 540 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The 6-speed robotized e-gear connected to the engine helps the vehicle to cross the 0-100 kmph mark in 3.4 seconds, while the top speed achieved is 320 kmph.
The Gallardo was priced in the range of Rs 1.55 crore to Rs 3.06 crore and is owned by many supercar enthusiasts in our country. Some of them includes few Bollywood celebrities like John Abraham, Shilpa Shetty, singer Guru Randhawa, cricketer Virat Kholi, businessman Gautam Singhania, etc.
13. Ferrari Roma – Top Speed 320 km/h
The 2020 Ferrari Roma is considered to be the most exotic and elegant looking Ferrari cars ever made and is named after the charismatic capital city of Italy. Unlike the other Ferrari’s like 488 Spider, 812 GTS or the LaFerrari Aperta, this car is not a convertible and has a fixed roof.
The Ferrari Roma gets a familiar 3.9L Twin-Turbocharged V8 petrol engine similar to the one already seen in the 488 GT. However, this one is a bit tweaked and produces 612 bhp of power between 5750-7500 rpm and 760 Nm of torque at 3000-5750 rpm. This car has a fuel tank capacity of 80 litres.
With all this power and torque going into the rear wheels through a new Getrag 8-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox, the Roma is able to achieve the 0 – 100 kmph mark in just 2.3 seconds while reaching a top speed of 320 kmph.
This car is not available in India yet, but is expected to be launched in October 2020, within the price range of Rs 3.50 – 4.0 crore.
12. Aston Martin DB11 – Top Speed 322 km/h
Aston Martin – Does it not resonate the James Bond movie in your mind? Well, the Aston Martin DB models have been used in the James Bond movies since the year 1964, when the Aston Martin DB5 model was shown in the movie “Goldfinger”.
The Aston Martin DB11 is the most powerful supercar model from the company in the DB series and was unveiled at the 86th Geneva Motor show in the year 2016.
Before this variant, the company was selling its DB9 model and was using it for almost 13 years after its initial debut in the year 2003.
You might be wondering what happened to the DB10? Well, the DB10 was a one-off model and was exclusively made for the James Bond movie – Spectre.
The Aston Martin DB11 is powered by a 5.2L V12 Twin-Turbo petrol engine that replaces the 6.0 litre V12 engine in the earlier DB9 model. This engine is able to generate a maximum power output of 600 bhp at 6500 rpm and a torque of 700 Nm at 1500 rpm. The DB11 has a fuel tank capacity of 78.0 litres.
An 8 speed ZF automatic transmission is paired with the engine that can push the vehicle from 0-100 Kmph in just 3.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 322 kmph.
The DB11 is priced at Rs 4.20 crore and is owned by few of the business tycoons in Delhi and Mumbai. However, few Bollywood celebrities like Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh owns the Aston Martin Rapid S model priced at Rs 4.0 crore.
11. Aston Martin Vanquish – Top Speed 323 km/h
The Aston Martin Vanquish was launched in the year 2001 by the British carmaker as a successor to its Vantage model. The first-generation model of V12 Vanquish was seen at the 2001 Geneva Motor show and was in production till the year 2007.
The second generation of the Vanquish was introduced in the year 2012 and had improved looks and performance compared to its predecessor. Available in 2-seater as well as 2+2-seater options, this model was launched in India in the same year. It was the second most expensive Aston Martin model at Rs 3.5 crore (ex-showroom price) only after the exclusive One-77 which was priced at Rs 25 crores.
The Vanquish is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.0-litre (5935 cc) V12 petrol powerhouse that generates 568bhp of power at 6750rpm and 620Nm of peak torque at 5500rpm. With an 8-speed Touchtronic six-speed automatic transmission mated to its engine, the supercar can achieve the 0-100 kmph mark in just 3.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 323 kmph.
The Vanquish supercar was in production for only 7 years (2012-2018) and was replaced by the DBS Superleggera model. However, during those 7 years some of the Indians who got ownership of this superb looking supercar included the likes of businessman Arjun Moraes from Mangalore, and few other businessmen from Chennai and Surat.
10. Lamborghini Huracan – Top Speed 325 km/h
Lamborghini unveiled Huracan in India in the year 2017 with its base version LP610-4 and since then they have come up with many more upgraded versions. Some of their variants launched in India includes Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder, Huracan Avio, Huracan Evo, Evo Spyder and Evo RWD. These bulls are powered by a 5.2 litre naturally aspirated highest-performing V10 engine that produces 631 bhp of power and 600 Nm of torque in the base Huracan model. A 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox sends all this power to the 4 wheels making the car sprint from 0-100 kmph in 2.9 seconds and attain a top speed of 325 kmph.
Priced at Rs 3.97 Crore (ex-showroom Delhi), this supercar is pretty expensive. However, within few years of production, almost 14,000 models of Lamborghini Huracan have rolled out of the assembly line so far.
Some of the people owning this supercar in India includes Indian cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya, and Sheetal Dugar – the first Indian women to become the owner of a Lamborghini Huracan.
9. Audi R8 – Top Speed 330 km/h
The Audi R8 is one of an iconic super cars and should be known to most of the Indians, thanks to its endorsement done by Indian cricketer Virat Kholi. The first-generation Audi R8 was launched back in 2006 at the Paris Auto Show, and this model was in production till 2015. The second-generation Audi R8 that replaced the V8 engine with the V10 engine was first unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and shares the same Modular Sports System (MSS) platform used by the Lamborghini Huracan.
In India, we got to see the second generation R8 for the first time at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, and made a lot of news with its launch in the presence of Bollywood star Alia Bhatt and cricketer Virat Kholi.
This supercar is powered by a 5.2-litre FSI quattro mid-mounted naturally-aspirated V10 petrol engine that delivers a power of 602 bhp at 8250 rpm and a maximum torque of 560 Nm at 6500 rpm. The R8 gets a fuel tank capacity of 73.0 litres.
The power from the engine is distributed to all its wheels using a 7-speed S-tronic gearbox with three automatic modes and an optional manual control. The R8 can breach the 0-100 kmph mark in just 3.2 seconds and can attain a top speed of 330 kmph.
Priced at Rs 2.72 crore, this sports car is expensive as well and is owned by only a few celebrities like cricketer Virat Kholi, Bollywood’s Ranbir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ronit Roy, Tollywood’s Vikram, Businessman Raj Kundra, etc to name a few.
8. Porsche 911 Turbo S– Top Speed 330 km/h
Porsche 911 have been known as great super cars, generations after generations. Coming into existence from 1964, these models are only manufactured at the Porsche’s factory in Stuttgart, Germany. This factory produces around 40 Boxters, 110 Porsche 911’s and about 500 engines daily.
You would be surprised to know that this model has 16 different versions to it, with the 911 Turbo and Turbo S being their latest and most insane ones.
The 911 Turbo S is powered by a 3.8-litre, twin-turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine that produces 641 bhp power at 6,750 rpm and a develops a maximum torque of 800 Nm at 2,500-4,000 rpm. It has a fuel tank capacity of 64.0 litres.
With the power going to all the four wheels via an 8 speed PDK automatic gearbox, the 911 Turbo S can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 kmph.
Priced at Rs. 3.08 crore (ex-showroom), this car is open for booking in India from the month of May this year and will be available for delivery by the end of 2020.

Among this supercar segment, the Ferrari 488 GT is the most popular supercar and was given the title of “The Supercar of the Year 2015” by Top Gear, as well as “Best Driver’s Car” in 2017 by MotorTrend. Certainly, this variant is a Gold Standard.
The Ferrari 488 GTB made its world debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and was later introduced in India in early 2016. The GTB stands for Grand Turismo Berlinetta and is a two-seater sports coupe made by Ferrari.
This Ferrari gets its power from a 3.9-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 660 bhp output at @8000rpm and a maximum torque of 760 Nm at 6750 rpm. With a 7-gear F1 dual-clutch transmission connected to the engine, the car can break the 0-100 kmph mark in just 3.0 seconds. The top speed achievable is 330 kmph.
With a price tag of Rs 3.88 crore, not all can afford this car. However, there are few celebrities in our country, who own this luxury supercar. Telugu movie actor Naga Chaitanya owns it for sure. Few others have been spotted on the roads on Mumbai and Bangalore.
6. Bentley Continental GT – Top Speed 333 km/h
The British luxury car manufacturer Bentley is known to offer some of the finest luxury performance vehicles combined with style and class. The first-generation Continental GT models started rolling out of the Bentley factory from the year 2003 and continued its production till the year 2011. The second-generation Continental GT model was in production from 2011-2018.
What we have now is the third generation of the GT model (2018-present) that was first launched at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. It’s design is inspired by the EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept from Bentley showcased at the 2015 Geneva International Auto Show.
The Bentley Continental GT model gets its power from a 6.0L Twin-Turbocharged W12 petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 626 bhp at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 900 Nm at 1,350 – 4,500 rpm. This car gets a massive fuel tank capacity of 90.0 litres.
Coupled with an 8-speed dual clutch transmission with Active all wheel drive mechanism is car does a 0 – 100 kmph mark in 3.7 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 333 kmph.
This luxury GT model is priced at Rs 4.3 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) and is owned by some of the top celebrities and businessmen in our country. Some of this supercar owners are Bollywood celebrities Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kholi, etc.
5. Aston Martin DBS Superleggera – Top Speed 340 km/h
The DBS Superleggera is a performance-oriented version of the famous DB11 model and the fastest supercar ever produced by the British luxury sportscar manufacturer, Aston martin. Available in two variants, the DBS Superleggera Volante and the DBS Superleggera Coupe, the Volante version got awarded as the “Sportscar of the Year” by The Sunday Times Driving and Driving.co.uk last year.
This super car is expected to be launched in India in the month of December this year and will have three driving modes GT, Sport, and Sport Plus available in it to adjust the car’s responsiveness.
The power for both the Superleggera variants comes from a 5.2-litre, twin-turbocharged V12 engine that produces a staggering 725 bhp pf power output at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 900 Nm at 1,800 – 5,000 rpm.
With a newly integrated transmission featuring a ZF 8HP95 gearbox in an Aston Martin, the Superleggera is able to do 0 – 100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds while achieving a top speed of 340 kmph.
The car is expected to be priced at Rs 5.0 crore in the Indian market.
4. Ferrari 812 superfast– Top Speed 340 km/h
Ferrari 812 superfast as the name suggests is the fastest and most powerful Ferrari cars ever made. This super car made its first appearance at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and was introduced as a successor to the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
Within one year of its debut, the car was launched in India in early 2018 and was brought by Ferrari to compete against the Lamborghini Avendator S.
The 812 superfast is powered by a powerful 12 cylinder, 6496cc V12 engine that churns a power output of 789 bhp at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 718 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
With a 7 speed F1 DCT transmission coupled to its engine, the car is able to make 0-100 kmph mark in just 2.9 seconds, while achieving a top speed of 340 kmph.
The 812 superfast is supposedly the last of the V12 super cars to be manufactured by Ferrari and costs a massive Rs 5.2 crore (ex-showroom) for the Indian customers, good enough to blow a hole in your wallets!
We don’t have much details about the people who own this supercar in our country. But one has been spotted on the streets of Hyderabad last year.
3. McLaren 720S – Top Speed 341 km/h
Designed and manufactured by the British automobile manufacturer, the McLaren cars are known to be high performance super cars with high-powered engines, usually seen at the race tracks.
Named after the New Zealander motor racing legend, Bruce McLaren, the McLaren team has been the most successful team in the Formula One championship history, after the Ferrari.
The McLaren 720S is the second car in the McLaren Super series, that replaced the McLaren 650S. First showcased at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, this supercar has a carbon fibre monocage structure, which is lighter and stiffer than its predecessor, the 650S.
In India, the first McLaren was spotted in Bangalore towards the end of year 2017. The fans got crazy as soon as it was spotted on the streets. Social media was buzzing with the images and videos of the car being chased by the fans then.
2. Lamborghini Aventador S – Top Speed 350 km/h
Aventador S is one of the flagship models of the Aventador series from the Italian supercar manufacturer, Lamborghini. Aventador, which takes its name from an award-winning fighting bull from Spanish Corrida replaced the previous Murcielago model from the year 2011. The first Aventador variant was known as the Aventador LP700-4.
The power for this raging bull comes from a 6498 cc V-12 petrol mid-mounted engine that produces a maximum power of 730 bhp at 8,400 rpm and a torque of 690 Nm at 5,500 rpm.
The engine is mated to an ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) 7-speed automatic transmission which enables the car to be incredibly fast breaching the 0-100 kmph mark in just 2.9 seconds. The top speed achieved is 350 kmph.
There are three variants available for the Aventador S, these super cars are the Aventador S base model priced at Rs 5.9 crore, Aventador S Roadster at Rs 6.6 crore and the Aventador SVJ at Rs. 8.3 crores.
The first Aventador S was seen on the streets of Bangalore in the year 2017, it was an SV Roadster model. One more SV model was seen in Mumbai but with a UK registration number. That belonged to Raymond boss Gautam Singhania who is well known for his collection of super cars in India.
1. Bugatti Veyron – Top Speed 431 km/h
Well, you guessed it right!! The Buggati Veyron has made to the number one spot in our fastest super cars list seen in India so far.
The Bugatti Veyron has been considered as a supercar of outstanding quality since its launch in the year 2005. Whenever you hear the word Bugatti, the first thing that would come in your mind should be ‘fastest’. That’s right! This French supercar manufacturer is known to be the manufacturer of the fastest production super cars on the planet.
The initial model Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 is a mid-engine sports car powered by an 8.0-litre, quad-turbocharged, W16 cylinder engine, which is equivalent to two narrow-angle V8 engines bolted together. The Veyron engine produces a massive 987 bhp of motive power and 1250 Nm of torque.
The powerful engine of the Veyron has got the vehicle into the Guinness World Records as it was able to hit a top speed of 431.07 kmph, fastest for any legal production car at that time. It can accelerate from 0 – 100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds.
This car is priced at a mammoth Rs 11.39 crore and is owned by very people in the world. Though there are few Indians who own this masterpiece, they do not live in India. Some of these NRIs who own the Bugatti are Reuben Singh – an Indian-origin British entrepreneur, Mayur Shree – US-based NRI businessman, and Dr C.J Roy – Dubai-based-Indian-Origin Real Estate tycoon.
