The Toyota fortuner had been a great success in the Indian market for a few years but here comes the new redesigned Toyota fortuner which is estimated to hit the roads in early 2016. Toyota has given the car a total cosmetic and engine upgrade.
The fortuner has already been spotted testing in India. The new redesigned fortuner comes with a total make over, it has sharper lines the overall design is more aggressive and the bold lines make the car stand out from the rest.
Under the hood of the older model there were mostly outdated engines which offer a decent amount of performance but not such a good fuel economy. The 2016 Toyota Fortuner on the other hand is expected to get a massive improvement here. While some of the engines like the 2.5 liter diesel with 105 horsepower or the 2.7 liter inline 7 with 160 horsepower are going to be kept as base engines, the older 3 liter diesel or 4 liter V6 engines are going to be discontinued.
Toyota gives the Fortuner a leaner and sleeker look.The rear profile of the car is sharp with the tail lamps nicely wrapped around the boot lid. The chrome continues on the rear too, and this bit is familiar since current generation of the car also sports the chrome strip.
The Toyota fortuner is entry level luxury SUV’s hence this time the company has concentrated on the interiors and given it a luxurious interior with leather and new panel design
The top-end 2016 Fortuner will be equipped with 7 airbags, including a driver-knee airbag, apart from a raft of electronic aids including ABS(anti lock breaking system), EBD(Electronic brake-force distribution), VSM(vehicle stability Management), ESC(electronic stability control), HAC (High Altitude Compensation) and Brake Assist. Even the new ladder-on-frame chassis of the SUV will be made of high-strength materials for better frontal crash protection.
As Toyota also has plans of launching the new innova at a higher price than its predecessor similarly the fortuner now retails for 22.5 lakhs and the face-lifted fortuner is expected at a price range of 24 – 26 lakhs.
