The Skoda Superb is a result of a significant blend of luxury, style, design, safety and performance. In order to move through heavy traffic effortlessly, the all new Skoda Superb comes fully equipped with the Tiptronic automatic transmission facility. This version is equipped with the latest key safety features and intelligent technology to correlate themselves with the advanced features and luxury that the sedan offers. It is believed that a face lifted version of the Skoda Superb is coming into the market by early 2014.  The ex-showroom price for this version ranges from Rs. 18.6 to 24.4 lakhs, depending on the luxury features involved.

Exterior

The profile of Skoda Superb is designed in such a way that it is guaranteed to leave an impression on the minds of people who come across it. In order to escalate the exterior profile of the sedan, the designers had perfectly blended in chrome together with it. Moreover, the creases and flowing lines at the sides, rear doors and the 16 inch alloy wheels, all look magnificent and perfectly placed with this variety. The rounded logo of the Skoda sits proudly on the chrome, just above the grille at the front. The quadrangular Bi-xenon headlamps sit perfectly near to the grille and the fog lamps are seen at the sides of the air dam. The turn indicators are perfectly placed on the ORVMs and spoiler is present at the rear lid. The polished dual exhaust tailpipes and rear twin door add in detail of the car. The overall length of the sedan is 4838mm, width of 1817mm and height of 1482mm. The sedan offers a ground clearance of 158mm.

Interior

The Skoda Superb is designed to comfortably fit five passengers. The interiors upholstered with leather makes the car rather more luxurious and give ample interior which perfectly complements the interiors. The seats provide ergonomic design, extended support to the shoulders, upper backrest and the seat eater facility to give the passengers maximum comfort all through the drive. The AC vents are thoughtfully put in for the rear passengers on both the B-pillars below the front seats could be adjusted as the passenger wishes. A large storage compartment is resent on the dashboard which is air conditioned, that could be used as a refrigerator for storing drinks. The rear left door has a compartment with drainage system for storing wet umbrellas. An inbuilt audio system with 6.5 inch LCD TFT Color Touch Screen, Catvision LED Lights, boarding spot lights on external mirrors, driver seat adjustment technology memory, alternate seed displayed are me  the features that are worth mentioning to the sedan.

Engine & Performance

Skoda Superb comes in two variants, petrol and diesel. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.8L TFSI in-line petrol engine which can produce a maximum power of 157.8bhp at 4500-6200rpm and a maximum torque of 250Nm at 1500-4500rpm. This turbocharged engine is coupled with either a 7-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission gear box, giving it a mileage of 8.4kmpl within the city and 12.6kmpl on highways. The diesel variant is powered by a 2.0L TDI CR diesel engine which can produce a maximum power of 138.1bhp at 4200rpm and a maximum torque of 320Nm at 1750-2500rpm. This turbocharged engine working with the direct injection fuel supply is coupled with automatic transmission DSG gear box, giving it a mileage of 9.5kmpl within the city and 13.7kmpl on highways.

Safety

The electromechanical power steering is the key safety feature offered by the Skoda Superb. Dynamic leveling Bi-xenon headlamps, Adaptive Front light System, light sensors with automatic light adjustment facility, retractable washers for headlights together with the front and rear fog lamps that has a light cornering facility, warning lights on every door, rear windscreen with timer facility and defogger, Hill Hold Control, Electronic Differential Lock, Traction Control System, air bags in rear and front seats, occupant detection system, seat belt warning lights, door open indicator, dual tone warning horn, anti-theft alarm system with motion sensors, engine immobilizer  etc. are some of the safety features offered by the sedan.
