Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale worth of AUD 300,000 (Australian dollars) has caught fire on a busy street of Adelaide, Australia.
The car which is believed to be purchased just six weeks ago, burst into flames while waiting at a stoplight. The shocking images show the Maserati GranTurismo engulfed by flames and burn to ashes. It appears that the fire has first started in engine bay area and then spread into the driver cabin after completely destroying the windscreen.
According to reports, the fire was caused by the engine overheating. The car engine bay simply bursts into flames while waiting at the light, giving little time to driver and passenger to react. Luckily, the driver and a passenger noticed the fire in time and were able to escape safely. The fire crews responded quickly and managed to bring the blaze under control.
The images show the extent of damage done to the engine bay, the front-quarter panels, windscreen and the driver cabin.
The MC Stradale comes equipped with a 4.7 litre V8 under the bonnet, punching 460hp and max torque of 520 Nm at 4750 rpm. With 460hp under the hood, the MC Stradale sprint 0-100 km/hr in just 4.5 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 303 km/hr (187 mph).
