Skoda Yeti 4×4 is the new version of car introduced into the Indian market by the famous manufacturer Skoda. This is the newest car put forth in the D segment with Crossover body type. The Skoda Yeti, just as its name implies, is designed to have a pleasure driving experience, even in the urban jungle. Although the size of the car gives a perception of it to be an expensive one which made most of the customers to fall back from buying, it is quite affordable with a price tag of Rs. 14.4-17.9 for a diesel engine.

Exterior

Skoda Yeti is an ultimate combination of sophistication and aggression. One can get the full concept of this, by just looking at the exterior. For road, this car is designed to grab in all of the attention from the public and hence it is an optimal attention seeker. The large, rounded headlamp is an exceptional feature which is least observed in new generation cars. The signature logo of Skoda is embedded in the front, right above the front grille with chrome bar. A big air dam is present in the front bumper, which is partly black in color. The wheel arches are bulgy with 5 spoke 16 inch alloy wheels; together with the roof rails give the car an additional sporty profile. The turn indicators are present inbuilt on the body colored side mirrors. Short boot gate with rear glass, sport rear wiper and antenna adds in curious outlook to the rear profile of the car. The overall length of the car is 4223mm, width of 1793mm and height of 1691mm. The car has an outstanding ground clearance of 180mm.

Interior

Skoda Yeti provides a trendy look at the interior, which goes in close accordance with the sporty outlook of the car. The beige color interior gives the car an elegant profile and has features that make one believe it to be a premium sedan. The seats and the steering wheel have leather coating which adds in more elegance to the interior. The car is designed to comfortably place five passengers and has generous headroom too. The leg space could be adjusted by moving the rear seats, which provide maximum comfort and luxury to the passenger. AC controls and the 6.5 inch touch screen LCD display for the audio system are placed in the center dashboard. The rear seats are powered by the VarioFlex Space Management System and the rear center armrest is equipped with adjustable AC vents. Electronically adjustable mirrors, storage compartments, multi functional display, luggage compartment floor, front glove box with cooling and illumination add up the reason for a purchase.

Engine & Performance

Skoda Yeti comes in two variants; two wheel drive (4×2) and four wheel drive (4×4). Both the variants come in manual transmission diesel engine. The 4×2 is powered by 14 cylinder, 16 valve DOHC, TDI turbocharged 2 litre diesel engine which produces a maximum power of 140bhp at 4200rpm and a maximum torque of 320Nm at 1750-2500rpm and is coupled with 6-speed manual transmission gearbox. The 4×4 is carries the same 2 litre, 4 cylinder, 16 valve diesel engine which produces a peak power of 110bhp at 4200 rpm and a peak torque of 250Nm at 1500-2500rpm and is coupled with 5-speed manual transmission.

Safety

Skoda Yeti is the first car to bring in the 4×4 mode, or the off-road mode, to ensure that maximum comfort is provided even while driving on off-roads. The integrated Haldex clutch works in accordance with ABS, ASR, EDS and ESP system and automatically, to ensure complete safety of the passengers. The Hill Descent Control System enables you to be at constant speed while climbing down the hill and the Drive-off assistant enables easy starting of the car when on a slippery surface. The Traction Control System improves grip on terrains, and the Electronic Differential Lock ensures the motor output is transmitted to all the wheels to give an extra grip. The car comes with six airbag features.
