On the 5th of may Lamborghini-India launched the Huracan Spyder LP 610-4 along with the inauguration of their new Mumbai showroom. During the launch event Lamborghini's Southeast Asia Head Sebastien Henry said, "India is one of the key strategic markets for Lamborghini. Given the projected economic growth here, we are optimistic about our scope here." he also added that " The new car replaces its best-selling open-top model in Lamborghini's history, the Gallardo Spyder."

Although it is a Spyder version the powerhouse remains same with its 5.2L naturally aspirated V10 engine that gives out a whopping 610 horse power and car accelerate from 0-100 in under 3.4 seconds. The car also has the same dual clutch 7 speed gearbox and retains the all wheel drive system.

To succeed in this challenge, every single element was redesigned for the precise purpose of eliminating the roof without compromising any of the car’s aerodynamics or torsional stiffness. Extra body weight and re-engineering of the rear quarter-panels was inevitable as safety cannot be compromised. Hats off to the marvelous engineering all that extra weight doesn't make a huge difference as both the hard top version and the soft top weight approximately 3400 pounds.

The Spyder version shares most of its interiors from its sister the Lamborghini Huracan. The only changes to the V-10’s formula are the addition of stop-start and cylinder deactivation, the latter of which shuts down one of the Huracán’s cylinder banks entirely, leaving the engine to run as an inline-five. These fuel-saving bits are also being added to the coupe for 2016.

The car can travel at 50 kilometers per hour and it takes 18 seconds for the roof to completely retract. This is not the fastest as per its rivals, The Mercedes Benz SL takes 16 seconds, Audi A5 cabriolet takes 15 seconds and a Porsche Boxster takes 15 seconds.

The new Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder is priced at Rs 3.89 crore, ex-showroom New Delhi.
